The building we have here is in the heart of Santa Monica's upper end area. It is a wonderful little pearl. A home for 27 different people. A safe haven to call home when you have humble needs.
All sorts of life paths have lead people to this building and Santa Monica. It is a quality of life choice to be in this town and near the ocean. Near the best that this town has to offer.

Established in 1998 the Avalon Apartments of Santa Monica has been a cool little home for many. We hope you appreciate the effort to make it as comfortable and functional as possible. Read below and learn more about us on these pages.

Innovative & stylish small spaces.
It is possible to live a quality life in a simple and less cluttered way if you love where you live. Here at Avalon Apts. the residents have small but efficient lodgings. All the best that Santa Monica has to offer is a short walk from the front door. The inter of of each unit has a small kitchenette for minimalist cooking. But when the need to cook is bigger there is a community room that has a full stove.
The units in the building are not standard! They are differing shapes and some even have balconies. It is a very interesting place for the residents to fit themselves into.
We built the best we could for the space.
The folks looking for large space for a king sized bed will be very disappointed in the size here. So, if you have a lot of furniture or a big bed, so sorry, we can't accommodate you. Keep looking though. Vacancies will turn up in other places around town.
If you are able to get in the groove of Minimalist or super efficient use of space and furnishing more spartan. Then we really offer a cool solution. Some really nice people in our building have put together really cool little homes in these apartments. There are tricks to making small spaces good to live in. One is keep it clean and tidy. Then when you are in your space you really enjoy it.
Hot Tip to apartment shoppers:
Look on more than just Apartments (dot) com for rental information. Call the management company offices directly. Zumper is a possible. Maybe Redfin. And Zillow too. Trulia may repeat some. Hot tip, do not rely on Apartments (dot) com to solve your shopping needs for the best fit of an apartment. Their billing practices have driven most managers/owners to stop using them. Look around. Drive around in your favorite area and call the local property management companies directly. Yup, actually calling is coming back into vogue.
When you Drive an area and walk around in differing times a day you will get a good feel of the community. A very good thing to know before you apply and spend money on the Application process. Is the walk ability of an area important. We have that here at Avalon Apts. of SM. Is nearby park for exercise and fun? We have that just one block away. Or a few blocks to the 7th Street stairs for exercise. Or 7 blocks to the Ocean Ave Bluff park and the walkway over to Santa Monica Beach.
But... You must be comfortable with Where You Will call Home. If you are cool with a small single. Maybe here is a good fit.

Our specialty is Small efficiency Apartments
Our building has many unique floor plans.
Small two room singles could be called a Jr One Bedroom. We have three of these... They are not actually a 1 bedroom. No dining area. But having a separate space for the bedroom is really good.
Three of the efficiency units come with a balcony. The outside sitting area is so very refreshing in our coastal breezes.
The shapes may change but the quality of life is here. Units are priced reflecting the amount of space and style and location.
One unit is a roof-top penthouse with large deck. We have one Hot item for the sun lover. It is the only apartment on the third floor. It is a small efficiency single but has a big private exterior space. The deck is glorious.
Common spaces are important to know about.
In the back is a shared laundry room with 3 washing machines and 4 dryers. Having plenty of Drying capacity is very helpful to move multiple people trough on a weekend.
And the Community Room is a shared space that is available day-times for meeting or eating or cooking.
Small units take judicious planing of the furnishings.
Selection of the bed is important. A single or twin or futon fold out is usually the best selection. Some units have the area needed for a Double.
If you try to stuff in a queen bed, it will not work. And don't even try with a King. Sorry.
Find your style and keep it tidy. Make it look inviting. So you feel good to come into your own space.
