About Avalon Apts of SM
Avalon is a word that conjures up happy times in many ways.
Our apartments may be small but they are stylish
designs, with special little features.
It was a long time ago that this building was renovated from 30+ rooms and just 7 bathrooms into the homes for 27 full apartments. The renovation stared in 1997. By the summer of 1998 new, and some prior, residents were moving back in. Each apartment had a Full bathroom. And their own electric service. The front has an electronic entry system that improved the access a lot.
If we go way back to before the building became a rent controlled apartment building it was affiliated with an sect of catholic nuns and the catholic church across the street. Likely the original structure was built with that use in mind as there was central dining hall and a main room likely for services. And the front offices for the mother superior was evident in the old floor plans prior to 1990's.

2021 we repainted and upgraded
The hallways were upgraded with modern cool color and front door went Red! The community room was upgraded with new cabinetry and furnishing and lighting and a brand new stove. The interiors of many units also got a lot of small improvements. The feel of the place changed to a better more upscale and cozy warmth.
